RITES Part IV: UNION
Part of you (on a pedestal) spreads into the sun, growing
Becomes overgrown, even.
Like Sunflowers, when their stems snap from the weight of their heavy heads
Meanwhile, there is another story inside of you, laying low, fermenting.
This part aches
pulling like a vacuum, claiming secret energies: your dreamtime
Sometimes even grabbing the wheel in full daylight (breeding shame)
Some fateful day-
The tectonic plates of you smack against each other,
it feels violent. In clarity you can see parts you've boxed into corners
or placed on pedestals
Naming them in binaries: good-bad, light-dark, trauma or honor
UNION is the moment when opposing parts meet,
saying, Wait, I know you! Put out your hand
Union is created when dis-integration and fragmentation
have become brittle, like porcelain
Union is the moment of alchemy when seemingly opposing parts
come together, reflecting your true form, iridescent,
containing multitudes
